For both solar white light imaging and visual observing; this diagonal-type white light solar filter wedge inserts into the focuser of your nighttime telescope for safe viewing of eclipses, sun spots, and more.
This wedge has a build-in ND3 filter which allows perfectly safe imaging or visual observing of the Sun.
- It is recommended to dim the image further for your eyes with visual observing, by using an additional Polarizing Filter. Add it to the bottom of your eyepiece and adjust the brightness to your comfort level by rotating it.
If you can reach imaging focus with your nighttime telescope while using a standard diagonal, you with be able to reach imaging focus with this wedge.
This is the 1.25-inch size, which is best for refractors of 4-inches and under. The larger 2-inch model is best for refractors 6-inches and under.
The additions of a polarizing filter (sold separately) is recommended when using the solar wedge visually.
