Here is a 1955 liquor bottle with a screwed on lid that was manufactured by the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. the hallmark on the bottom of the bottle is an “I” in a circle and it was first used on the liquor bottles in 1954. All of the Owens-Illinois Glass Co. manufacturing plants, stop using this hallmark the “I” in a circle until 1966. but some of the bottle had “I” in a circle passed 1966. What is on the bottom of the bottle is the hallmark, liquor bottle, 55, 2, and 82. The 55 stands for 1955 this is the year the bottle was made, the 2 stand for where the bottle was manufacture, and the 83 is the form identification mark. The manufacture plant for this bottle was in Huntington, West Virginia. There are no chips, cracks, fleabites, or stains on this bottle it is in excellent condition.
